Sony, distributed by Charmex in Spain and Portugal, launches a 4K 60p PTZ camera model with an integrated lens, the BRC-AM7 . This model incorporates AI PTZ Auto Framing technology, facilitating precise and natural automatic tracking of previously selected moving subjects. Thanks to this innovation, video productions are simplified without losing the high quality for those demanding broadcasts and live events.

It's worth noting that in July 2025, Sony will release a new firmware version that will allow this tracking to be performed within a predefined area and any unwanted subjects to be excluded.

Excellent image quality

By combining the 1.0-type 4K-compatible stacked Exmor RS™ CMOS image sensor with the latest BIONZ XR® image processing engine, the BRC-AM7 achieves high-resolution 4K 60p images with low noise. 5K oversampling allows users to capture high-resolution 4K video, and 4K HDR images are also supported, clearly depicting both bright and dark scenes.

It has a 20x optical zoom and its well-known Clear Image Zoom, which is the super resolution with all available pixels that allows high magnification zoom while maintaining the resolution, being 30x in 4K and 40x in Full HD.

The BRC-AM7 integrates easily into Sony's camera lineup, utilizing ITU709, 709tone, S-Cinetone™, and S-Log3 compatibility to simplify color adjustment. It also features a familiar user experience and operation. The camera supports GENLOCK terminals and is compatible with Sony master setup units and remote control panels, enabling multi-camera operation and integration with Sony switchers.

The camera features 12G-SDI and HDMI® outputs, and 3G-SDI for monitor output. For audio, the BRC-AM7 offers two channels of 3-pin XLR connectors and a φ3.5 mm stereo input.

IP and free-d compatible to support new video production

Other compatibility options include SRT, RTMP, RTSP, NDI, and fiber optics, enabling remote production over IP networks. It supports VISCA™ over IP, the S700PTP protocol, and CGI, enabling remote camera control via external commands.

In addition, the BRC-AM7 supports the free-d protocol, which is commonly used in virtual productions such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
