Innovation in professional training at the Bidasoa Center with Traulux monitors

Traulux 86-inch interactive screens, PC - OPS modules with Windows 10 PRO preinstalled, wheel supports that allow the monitor to be moved at will, and charging cabinets make up the solution provided to the Bidasoa center. Its operating director, Juantxo Bengoetxea, tells us about its benefits.

Located in Irún (Basque Country), the CIFP Bidasoa LHII is committed to being at the forefront of training both with the development of different innovative projects with high technological value and applicability in training programs, as well as with the inclusion of new methodologies and technologies in their classrooms. For this reason, they have incorporated Traulux interactive monitors with PC-OPS modules in their facilities.

The vocational training center responds to the needs of the industrial fabric of the Bidasoa region, with 10 training cycles: 4 Intermediate Level and 6 Higher Level. Aware of the new challenges of society, it has implemented a challenge-based teaching methodology, where they confront a group of students with real problems, based on their experience and creativity.

Challenge-based methodology
As the operational director comments, “to solve the challenge, the student analyzes what he needs and asks us for the necessary information that will be used immediately. The learning curve will be greater since you will see the practicality of what is explained to you”.

This methodology allows them to work, in addition to the technical content, the soft skills necessary in the day to day of the company. For example: teamwork, communication and initiative in the face of a problem, critical thinking and the development of ICT digital skills, which are so important in today's society.

An ideal solution for collaboration in the classroom
It is there that it provides the solution offered to the Bidasoa center, by the integrator Unión Radio Irún and Charmex . Composed of 86-inch Traulux interactive monitors, plus PC-OPS Modules with pre-installed Windows 10 PRO, wheel supports , which allow the monitor to be moved at will, and charging cabinets for the students' PCs.

Traulux TLM80 interactive monitors, as they explain, are used as a collaboration tool in class activities, in all departments. As well as in face-to-face and online meetings.

These screens are ideal for teaching, as they allow up to 40 simultaneous touches (20 writing). Among its most outstanding features is its advanced blackboard where you can make notes and organize class ideas in an "infinite" space, with the possibility of resizing and duplicating.

They also include EsharePRO, for wireless transmission of up to 4 simultaneous devices on screen, compatible with all operating systems. With reverse mirroring of up to 10 devices and remote control from PC, very useful features for everyone in class to collaborate.

The “heart” of the system is a PC-OPS + Windows 10 PRO. The OPS format allows the computer to be integrated into the monitor chassis itself, which brings several advantages to the system; As it is integrated, it is not necessary to connect it externally, the power supply and all the communication ports are direct, being safer and reducing the rate of incidents due to poor connections or wear on the connectors over the years.

On the other hand, the computer starts up automatically when you choose the OPS option among the various input sources, or when it is programmed to start up at the same time as the monitor and when the monitor is turned off (or scheduled to turn off at a certain time). ), the PC also shuts down with the Windows “shut down” process.

Experimenting for a year
Both students (around 500) and teachers have had access to Traulux monitors in their day-to-day activities for a year. “Interactivity has been very good for us. And the provision of videos with explanations of how to use said equipment”.

According to comments from the center, "we previously used projectors and electronic whiteboards to teach classes." But, "from the needs of the academic center we have been adapting to new technologies taking into account economic availability".

As they emphasize from the center, the technical teaching teams are used to receiving training in new technologies; renew and update to new realities. For this reason, they explain, they have not had any type of obstacle to include the monitors in their class dynamics.

The Integrated Centers are those that provide all the training offers that lead to obtaining professional training qualifications and/or certificates of professionalism, aimed at professionals in the three groups: initial training, training for active and unemployed workers

Currently, the educational offer of the Integrated FP Center is focused on the families of Mechanical Manufacturing, Wood and Furniture, Electricity, Industrial Electronics, Telecommunications Electronics.

Some of its latest innovation projects include the creation of a Parking 4.0, for sustainable mobility, with a charging point for two electric vehicles, plus a photovoltaic canopy that injects the energy generated directly into the school's facilities. And, on the other hand, a parking lot for electric scooters. Also a project to monitor electricity consumption and lighting, to analyze how to optimize the systems of a venue.
